Evaporative and Steam Humidifier Solutions

We offer both evaporative and steam humidifiers to suit different needs. Evaporative systems provide efficient, energy-saving moisture distribution, while steam models quickly add moisture to the air for those needing more intense humidity control. Our team helps you select the best humidifier option for your home, ensuring effective and balanced air quality.

Air Quality Enhancement

Installing a humidifier can significantly improve your home’s air quality. By regulating humidity levels, your humidifier reduces the proliferation of allergens like dust mites and mold, creating a healthier environment. It also keeps respiratory issues at bay, preventing a dry throat and nasal congestion. Enjoy cleaner, more breathable air throughout your home.

Smart Humidifier Integration

For those looking for more convenience, we offer smart humidifier systems that integrate with your home’s HVAC setup. These systems allow you to control humidity levels remotely via smartphone apps. With this technology, you can ensure optimal humidity in your home from anywhere, enhancing comfort and promoting better indoor air quality.

Benefits of Humidifiers

Improves Respiratory Health

A balanced level of humidity helps soothe dry nasal passages and throats, reducing the likelihood of irritation and respiratory discomfort. Humidifiers can alleviate symptoms of allergies, asthma, and colds, creating a healthier living environment, especially during Colorado’s dry winters.

Prevents Dry Skin and Hair

Excessively dry air can strip moisture from your skin and hair, leading to dryness and irritation. By maintaining optimal humidity levels with a whole-home humidifier, you protect your skin and hair from the harsh effects of dry indoor air, keeping them hydrated and healthy.

Protects Wood Furniture and Floors

Wooden furniture, floors, and musical instruments are vulnerable to dry air, which can cause them to crack, warp, or shrink. A humidifier helps maintain moisture levels, preserving the integrity and appearance of wooden items, ensuring they remain in excellent condition for years.

Enhances Comfort in Your Home

Consistent humidity levels contribute to an overall sense of comfort within your home. With a humidifier, you can maintain a cozy atmosphere, preventing the uncomfortable dryness often associated with winter weather. It also makes the air feel warmer, enhancing the heating system’s efficiency.

Reduces Static Electricity

Dry air promotes the buildup of static electricity, leading to annoying shocks when touching metal objects or electronic devices. By using a humidifier, you reduce static buildup, creating a more comfortable living environment without the disruption caused by static electricity.

Boosts HVAC System Efficiency

When the air is too dry, your HVAC system has to work harder to maintain the desired temperature. A humidifier helps the system work more efficiently, reducing the workload on your heating unit, extending its lifespan, improving energy efficiency, and lowering utility bills.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the signs that a humidifier is needed?

Dry skin, irritated eyes, static electricity buildup, frequent coughing, or cracked wooden furniture are signs that a humidifier may be needed. Low indoor humidity levels commonly cause these symptoms, which can be addressed with a humidifier.

  • How does a humidifier help with allergies?

Humidifiers help reduce allergy symptoms by maintaining proper humidity levels. Adding moisture to the air prevents dryness that can irritate the nasal passages, sinuses, and respiratory systems. This helps minimize allergens like dust, mold, and pollen, promoting better breathing.

  • What is the difference between an evaporative and a steam humidifier?

Evaporative humidifiers use a fan to blow air through a wet filter, allowing moisture to evaporate into the air naturally. Steam humidifiers heat water to produce steam, which is then released into the air to raise humidity levels.

  • How often should a humidifier be cleaned?

A humidifier should be cleaned every 1-2 weeks to avoid mold, bacteria, and mineral buildup. Regular cleaning ensures the device operates efficiently, eliminates odors, and maintains healthy indoor air quality while extending the lifespan of the unit.

  • Can a humidifier help with a dry throat and cough?

A humidifier can alleviate a dry throat and cough by adding moisture to the air. This helps soothe irritation in the throat and respiratory system, providing relief from discomfort caused by dry air, especially during cold, dry months.

  • Are humidifiers noisy?

Modern humidifiers are generally quiet, with only minimal noise. Evaporative models may produce a soft hum due to the fan, while steam humidifiers may have gentle bubbling sounds. Overall, they operate quietly without causing significant disturbances in the home.

  • Is professional installation required for a humidifier?

Professional installation is recommended for whole-home humidifiers to ensure proper integration with the HVAC system. This ensures optimal performance, safety, and efficient humidity control across the home. Portable humidifiers do not require professional installation and can be set up independently.

You're not going to find a better HVAC company, there's no need to look! As a project manager, I have worked with Gold Star Heating & Air 100+ times. I've never had a single bad experience with them. Service is always prompt, thorough, well priced, high quality, on schedule, and professional. They stand behind their work and deliver quality service. Everything is done by the book and worry free. I have used their services in my own house as well as all of my projects. I will recommend them to anybody who needs HVAC work.

Justin M.

We woke up this morning with a very noisy furnace. We called Gold Star about 9am and they were here before 11. It was a bad blower motor. They gave us prices for motor and were able to get one. They went after it and was back and had it replaced by 1:30. This was great as we were having sub zero temperatures. I doubt the old motor would have lasted the day as it was really screeching. The gentlemen were respectful of our home and very professional. Our dog even approved.

Sharon O.
